Maria Robles schachter
Director

Maria Robles was born a Gemini on June 20 in San Antonio, Texas. She is the second in her family since 1830 to be born outside of Puerto Rico, so she proudly calls herself a “Texan-Rican”. As a child, she loved to read and dance jazz and hip hop, until she was bitten by the acting bug in college.
Since then she has worked in theater, film, television and advertising. About 5 years ago she got tired of the lack of creative control of an actress and decided to produce her own music videos (“Earth Mother”), pilot episodes (“L.I.F.E”, “Apartments”) and short films (“La flamenquera”). She has written and directed a TV pilot and a short film.
Her obsession with writing content that empowers women led to a vigilante origin story. This aforementioned script “La venganza de la flamenca” was selected to be produced by the Madrid Film Institute as one of the end-of-course short films and was nominated for “Best First Short” at MadFest 2023. Her production team won “Best Production Design” for the music video “Earth Mother” at the Apex Film Festival in 2020. She currently resides in Madrid, where he is learning the Spanish way of filmmaking and how to dance flamenco.

Nicole really Iikes making funny stuff!
Her love of being in front of the camera led to a star-cross’d love of being behind it!
